Imagine an intimate bar; dimly lit, ample seating, and an eclectic food menu that has everything you could want while sharing food with friends or a date. Well, that’s what bar belly is like and I’m so happy I ended up checking this spot out recently. My friend and I decided to grab drinks here on a weekday. We didn’t have a reservation and most definitely did not need one. Once we arrived we opted to sit at the bar. We had come during happy hour and were excited to have the opportunity to try some dishes and drinks out. Noted with beer but also tried the Casanova cocktail which tasted more like a vodka based summer drink. When it came time to food we dined on their tater tots and prosciutto pizza. All great for sharing! I’d totally recommend this for a more intimate occasion if you do end up visiting.

Bar Belly is a cocktail lover’s paradise! Hugo is an absolute artist behind the bar — every drink he makes is crafted with skill and style. The Pineapple Express was my personal favorite — bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. And the Pink Pony frozen cocktail? To die for! Sweet, fun, and dangerously delicious. The vibe is cozy yet lively, making it the perfect spot for a night out. Between the incredible drinks, the welcoming atmosphere, and Hugo’s top-notch service, Bar Belly has officially become one of my go-to NYC bars.

Really nice place. Fantastic service. A great variety of cocktails, all made very well (their Negroni was excellent). A casual, hip, fun vibe, with great music.

Amazing vibe for happy hour on a Tuesday evening, with band performing and everyone enjoying their time at the tables. Got a dozen oysters for only $12, and absolutely loved how refreshing all the drinks we ordered were!

Excellent happy hour with well made drinks and $1 oysters. Loved the free popcorn, too. A cozy and relaxed space to visit with friends and lovers.

i never right reviews, but last night was nothing short of impeccable service! started off the night, where friends and i met antonio, who was nothing but so warm and welcoming, found a table for us, and served us + accommodated us with such attention! the true reflection of the night, was after we left. my friend manages a form chronic illness and became very sick, very quickly last night. antonio and sophia dropped everything they were doing, and kept the other side of bar belly open, so we could have our friend rest in their for hours until we were able to safely bring her to medical care. antonio not only stayed, but literally found food for us and our sweet friend, and left us his personal card to contact him after! sophia brought us water, ice for my friend, and and anything else we needed. this type of care is what makes NYC! community in the good, the bad, the ugly. a testament to true care for those they serve. i am in awe of the work everyone put in for us last night, even the names i forgot to get. and shout out to lina at the bar for a life changing whiskey sour + timothy as the DJ who was one of the best DJs i’ve heard in the city (something i do not say lightly). and to everyone else who served us, we are forever grateful for y’alls warmth and accommodation, you all have customers for life!

Bar Belly is one of the best happy hour spots in the Lower East Side. The $1 oysters are fresh and a great deal, especially with a drink.

Came for happy hour (mon), stayed for the vibes. Live music 🙂‍↕️ moody and flirty atmosphere 🙂‍↕️ we were at the bar and service was excellent and attentive. 1 dollar Oysters and delishhhh cocktails WOW.

Came here for happy hour and would DEFINITELY return!! The service was really awesome, very attentive, interactive and funny! The $1 oysters are a good deal and although you can find that in a lot of different spots, this was my best oyster experience as the sauce was really good! Also, I wasn't going to get a drink but when I tried by sisters I had to! The drinks are phenomenal! And it is a super cute and cozy environment with good lighting!
